Last Tuesday – September a Virtual YPOS Happy Hour
Last Tuesday – September a Virtual YPOS Happy Hour
September 29 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
As sure as the sun is to rise… every month for the last 9 years, the YPOSeattle Happy Hour (“Last Tuesday”) would bring hundreds of young professionals to a bar or restaurant in Seattle around a common interest. Community.
Covid-19 has changed the way the world operates. YPGroup Communities, not being exempt from change, is in a position to pivot, innovate and continue doing what we love: Bring people together. ♥
For the past 9 years our Last Tuesday Happy Hours events have been a Seattle staple; an in-person event we enjoyed hosting each month that featured 150+ of the most important people in the community: YOU!
Well, the world is different now. Your health and safety is our priority so virtual is our new reality. So we changed things around to accommodate for the new landscape while maintaining our signature YPOSeattle happy hour style (see below).
Our new, virtual, Happy Hour will 3 have different topic-oriented rooms (you choose your topic at registration) + a cocktail making class to kick things off. Thank you to our partners Zeacon, Absolut, and Jameson!
So purchase a cocktail kit, tell us what room you want to network in, and save the date for September 29th @ 6pm! 🍹🍸
#staythefhome #quaranstream #lasttuesday
Here are the details/schedule:
6pm-6:30 PM – Cocktail Making Class:
Guided Cocktail Class: Purchase an Absolut Juice Pear and Elderflower Cocktail Kit or Jameson Cold Brew kit and we will all make cocktails with the very talented Seattle based brand ambassador, Stephanie Olsen!👋🏼. Stephanie will be your master guide creating tasty cocktails, with other like-minded professionals (heck, making high-end drinks is way better with a group).
Exclusive Swag: Along with the cocktail ingredients, Absolut and Jameson have included exclusive swag (hint: a pretty sweet backpack) worth over $70. Yeah, exclusive means you can’t get these items anywhere else! Lastly, for each box sold, we will give a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Bartenders Emergency Assistance Program. 💪🏼🙏🏼
So purchase your box (s) and get excited to start the Last Tuesday off right (each attendee will have to purchase a box in order to participate in this portion of the happy hour).
6:30 PM-6:45 PM Networking in the Main Room
6:45 PM-7:45 PM Per your choosing, you will be placed into 1 of 3 rooms:
Room #1 Games:
It’s EXACTLY what you think it is! We are keeping this room, light, fun, and full of competition. Get ready to have a fun time!
Room #2 Career Dev / Jobs Connector:
Think of the Job Connector room like a virtual jobs fair, where you get to have a casual conversation with a career coach, a hiring manager or recruiter from a company looking to fill roles and your peers while picking up tips and tricks to stand out when applying for a position. This month’s expert/facilitator is Stephanie Smith of Hire Minded.
Room #3 Current Events: this month’s topic is: Voting & Voter Suppression
Join YP Impact for a discussion on voting and voter suppression. Learn how voting has been suppressed in the past and in the present, as well as resources for the upcoming election and how to filter out the noise and find out the facts.
Each month, the Current Events room will leverage a digital resource as a tool to help carry the conversation. This month’s conversation resource is the Amazon Documentary: All in: The Fight for Democracy.
YP Impact will be streaming the documentary on Monday, September 21st, for those who’d like to watch ahead of time in a group setting. Join us then, or watch it on your own.
Note: You don’t need to watch the movie to participate in the happy hour discussion.
7:45 PM – whenever Networking: We will all reconvene in the “main” room for some more digitally awesome networking!
About the Virtual Last Tuesday:
If you’ve been to one of our happy hours, you’d know that we don’t enjoy forcing structure. Organic networking is sort of our thing and we intend to keep it that way, for the most part. But current events call for adaptation into a virtual world; adding just a sprinkle of structure with.
So, we are asking you to come prepared to network like normal, introduce yourself like normal, and answer a quick icebreaker to get the conversation flowing.
OH… and if you want to have your virtual business card (your Linkedin link) ready to hand out (copy and paste) we won’t be mad about it.
