Entrepreneurs, freelancers, students, CEOs and everyone in between – the first ever ProDev Day had it all. ProDev, an extension of Young Professionals of Seattle, has been around for a couple of years now – hosting educational chats and panel events featuring industry leaders of the Pacific Northwest. ProDev Day was conceived as part of a new YPOS and ATLAS Workbase partnership, announced earlier this year, and didn’t disappoint.
Doors opened at 7am and people filed in at their leisure, anticipating a unique opportunity to connect and learn. The first half of the day attendees settled, working side-by-side, throughout the award winning ATLAS Workbase coworking space.
The second half of ProDev Day kicked off with a lunchtime break out session, lead by Jamie Shindler (pictured below, in blue). Conversations focused on networking strategies, how to find relevant networking events in a market flooded with options, and best practices around following up with a new contact.
Angel investors, career coaches, marketers and city influences dedicated time, during the Open Office Hours slot that followed lunch. ProDev Day attendees had a chance to connect, and speak one-on-one, with mentors on topics relevant to their respective fields of interests.
The day wrapped up with a happy hour, powered by ATLAS and Redhook Brewlab, and (in typical ProDev fashion), a Fireside Chat. Nick Hughes, CEO of Founders Live lead a conversation with Bryan Rutberg, Principal of 3C Comms about finding mentorship and becoming a more effective leader.
Keep an eye on the ProDev website for future events, including ProDev Day v2.
